About Live Well

Live Well Nutrition is run by Debra Whelehan, a registered practitioner with the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Debra's passion for food and a fascination with how it can effect us led her to study nutrition, and after four years she gained her qualification at the renowned Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London. She has experience in a wide range of health conditions and has a particular interest in digestive health, weight management, hormonal health, fertility and pregnancy which has been the focus of her further studies.

Debra has also worked with The Mini Cooking Club, running Nutrition During Pregnancy courses in the local community.

About Nutrition

Nutritional therapy is a personalised approach to healthcare that applies nutrition and health related science to promote optimum health and well-being. It is about helping you to understand how what you are eating may be causing unwanted symptoms such as digestive discomfort, low energy or poor concentration, or contributing to chronic health conditions.

Nutrition is essential for good health and Nutritional Therapy recognises that we are all biochemically unique with varying requirements for nutrients. Finding and maintaining the right balance can help to restore and maintain optimal health, as well helping to protect against ill health in later life.

Nutrition is not just about food, it also about how we absorb, process and utilise the nutrients we consume, and these factors, as well as our genetics and our external environment, can have an impact on our digestion, energy, mood and general health.
