After experimenting with lots of different houmous recipes this is Live Well Nutrition's favourite.


Ingredients (serves 4)

400g chickpeas (drained and rinsed)                       1 1/2 tbls tahini                  

1-2 garlic cloves, crushed (to taste)                        3-5 tbls lemon juice (to taste)

120ml water                                                         1 tbsp olive oil

Parsley to granish (optional)            


To make:

  1. Reserve some chickpeas for garnish
  2. Combine all ingredients, except olive oil, in a blender.
  3. Blend until mixed well and smooth
  4. Transfer the houmous to a serving dish and make a shallow well in centre
  5. Pour olive oil into well,  and garnish garnish with whole chickpeas and parsley
